Job Description:
Ignite have an opportunity for a Cost control manager for a power based EPC.

You will be responsible the Project cost control function strategic goals, business plans, budgets and resources in coordination with the VP

Duties:
- Develops adequate policies and processes for the Project Cost Control function to maintain efficient operational excellence.
- Communicates the Project Cost Control function’s guidelines and processes to employees and ensures clear understanding of these guidelines.
- Works towards achieving the Project Cost Control function’s strategic goals and reports progress to executive management.
- Reviews projects budget and subsequent cost estimates / plan, as well as monitors, adjusts and updates the cost plan accordingly.
- Provides expert analysis to management on project cost and scheduling performance based on analysis of project data.
- Provides cost trending and forecasting information to ensure advanced warning to project engineers responsible for making informed cost management decisions. This includes budget updates and recommendations for corrective action to assure compliance with project unique requirements.
- Notifies project managers immediately of any projected over- or under-run vs. approved funding, especially if outside agreed tolerances.
- Issues progress reports on agreed frequency for individual project costs and for the overall site portfolio.
- Ensures that all project budgets, forecasts, cost reports are progressed and updated appropriately.
- Ensures appropriate contingency handling and draw-down is occurring on projects as they progress.
- Integrates project schedules for forecasting cash flow requirements, and participates in the development of schedules.
- Conducts and schedules review meetings to discuss project progress and to assist in developing alternatives to accommodate changes in priorities and evaluate schedule impact of proposed changes throughout the project.
- Develops tools, matrices, and formats for collecting data, tracking, trending, forecasting, and archiving cost/schedule information.
- Finalizes cost reports and analyses, and ensures delivery to site project management or other departments as required.
- Liaises with site project management and accounting as and when required to ensure accurate and timely information sharing, and addresses issue as and when required.
- Conducts performance evaluation processes for the Project Cost Control function’s employees to cover objective settings progress performance meetings and performance appraisals.

You will have worked in a similar role before and ideally have worked in Power/Substation/T&D industries.
